Join as we launch the National Juneteenth Telethon. This live event will take place in Hampton Roads, Virginia and will be streamed across America. In 1865, when the US Colored Troops departed headed to Galveston, Texas in 1865, they departed from the shores of City Point, Virginia, next to modern day Hopewell. That was the storied journey to notify and enforce the message of freedom. This telethon event will celebrate this Juneteenth history, and raise funds for education scholarships, ensuring the future never forgets that past, and our celebration of freedom.
